IT SPECIALIST (APPSW)

• You will have high level technical mastery over software development and/or data structures and science.
• You will lead teams in environments with shared resources.
• You will validate the need for proposed new systems through consultation with program officials in customer program organizations.
• You will conduct preliminary analyses of business processes for which systems are being developed;
• You will consult with customers to refine functional requirements and translates functional requirements into design specifications.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time., A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing senior level software development, data system development, software deployment, DevOps, and data structures/science including Agile project management; 2) Mentoring, training, and developing workforce competencies and skills; 3) Translating business/functional requirements into technical task assignments; 4) Communicating across groups with various levels of technical knowledge; 5) Analyzing and translating technical specifications into integrated systems that automate business processes; executing the life cycle change process of systems and implementing design changes in response to changes in customer functional requirements., Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment., This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
