Job description

  • You will independently determine the feasibility of installing modifications; and schedule implementation to ensure continuity of operations.
  • You will monitor performance data and modifying systems tuning parameters to optimize overall systems performance and correct and prevent problems with the systems environment.
  • You will participate in reviewing current and proposed IT legislation, directives, regulations, and guidance, make recommendations on proper systems design, security and performance areas, and determine the impact of changes to existing systems.
  • You will evaluate and maintain metrics of damaged Support Equipment (i.e. PEMA) for corrupt software and rebuild/repair as required.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code System Administrator, proficiency level: Intermediate. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required., A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating experience analyzing, managing, or performing work necessary to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems or accomplishing work processes by using information technology (IT) systems such as computers, servers, routers, etc. 2) Demonstrating knowledge of NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command) Standard IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) Viewer (NSIV) software., Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment., This job does not have an education qualification requirement., PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
