Job description

We are seeking an experienced IT Senior Consultant (Level 5) with deep hands-on expertise in enterprise storage and backup technologies. This role provides specialized technical leadership, supports mission-critical national security environments, and leads complex, high-impact technology initiatives across multiple data centers. The ideal candidate demonstrates mastery in SAN/NAS storage platforms, high-availability architectures, performance optimization, and integration with modern hypervisor and cloud technologies., * Architect, design, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support diverse enterprise storage and backup platforms and associated management tools

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex storage system issues across SAN, NAS, and object storage architectures
  • Implement and follow engineering and architecture standards; participate in technical design and architecture reviews
  • Evaluate, integrate, and manage emerging storage and backup technologies in coordination with engineering and architecture teams
  • Provide incident response and participate in an on-call rotation (off-hours and weekends)
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including diagrams, engineering artifacts, SOPs, and run books
  • Drive continuous improvement in availability, performance, resiliency, and efficiency of storage and backup environments
  • Oversee installation and upgrades of storage hardware, operating systems, and software in accordance with SOPs
  • Monitor, report, and manage system performance, capacity, and utilization
  • Stay current on industry advancements and support federal stakeholders with future technology planning
  • Lead medium-to-large complex projects and major phases of enterprise-scale initiatives
  • Deliver specialized technical guidance, advanced troubleshooting, and innovative solutions for complex IT challenges
  • Prepare detailed analyses, technical reports, and presentations for government stakeholders

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (must already be held).
  • Bachelor’s degree + 12 years relevant experience, OR
  • Associate’s degree + 15 years relevant experience, OR
  • High School/GED + 20 years relevant experience.
  • IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)., * Extensive hands-on engineering experience with NetApp platforms (must-have)
  • Engineering experience with SAN and NAS storage technologies
  • Knowledge of S3, CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel block storage
  • Experience with storage and backup capacity planning, including tools such as Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik, and CommVault
  • Proven ability in performance tuning and optimization of storage and backup environments
  • Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies
  • Senior-level experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale, multi-data-center systems
  • Strong understanding of high-availability architecture concepts and practical implementation experience
  • Deep knowledge of hardware fundamentals: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, I/O, paging, swapping, system calls
  • Strong foundation in essential TCP/IP concepts including TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, and NTP
  • Experience integrating storage arrays with hypervisor technologies such as Nutanix, VMware VCF, and OpenStack
  • Knowledge of federal security and hardening requirements, including FISMA and STIGs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to follow direction and work effectively within a team
