Junior AI / Data Engineer

We’re looking for a Junior AI / Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join us for a 1 year parental leave cover. You’ll support data pipelines, automate workflows, and help implement AI-driven solutions across the business.

You will be working in: English (fluency required), German is a plus.

How you will make an impact:

• Support data ingestion, transformation, and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Assist in automating and optimizing internal workflows and processes.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions, including coding agents and simple agentic workflows.
• Help with testing, deployment, and monitoring of new features and systems.
• Collaborate closely with operational and marketing teams to deliver practical, data-driven solutions.
• Document processes and support knowledge sharing within the team., Scope of the role: Temporary (1 Year), focused on execution and delivery.

• 1-2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or similar (including internships or relevant projects).
• Solid foundation in Python with some hands-on project experience.
• Interest or initial experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar).
• Basic familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, and cloud environments (GCP or AWS).
• Exposure to infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is a plus.
• Familiarity with LangChain / LangGraph is a plus.
• Experience with Golang and JavaScript is a plus.
• Interest or initial experience in Marketing / AdTech is a plus.
• Understanding of version control (e.g., Git).
• Structured, hands-on, and eager-to-learn mindset with a focus on execution.
• Ability to work independently while proactively asking the right questions.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
