Embedded Firmware Engineer

Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and validate firmware for Application-Specific Instruction Processors (ASIP, RISC--V-based) used in automotive & industrial sensor signal conditioning, actuator control and communication interfaces.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with system architects, product definition, and hardware development teamsContribute to the definition, customization, and optimization of ASIP (RISC--V-based) architecturesDesign and implement firmware for deeply embedded application-specific microcontrollers / DSPsDefine and refine firmware requirements and firmware architectureDevelop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and validation strategiesEstablish and maintain toolchains, simulation environments, and debug workflowsSupport performance analysis and optimization in constrained (real-time) environmentsEnsure compliance of the implementation with functional safety standards (ISO 26262)QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldStrong expertise in embedded C programming (bare-metal environments) & AssemblerProficiency with embedded development tools:Compilers, debuggers, linkersSimulators and emulatorsStatic analysis and testing toolsSolid understanding of:Memory-constrained and real-time systemsLow-level hardware interaction (register-level programming)CPU architecture principlesExperience with signal processing basics (e.g., FIR/IIR filters, ADC data handling)Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for test automation and toolingGood understanding of ASPICE & ISO 26262 software development processesProfessional working proficiency in English (written and spoken) requiredAdditional InformationRenesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider driven
