  • Do you want to rapidly develop your technical and communication skills through 1-on-1 mentoring and a culture of continuous learning?, As a JVM Software Engineer Utrecht, you’ll immediately join greenfield projects that require scalable, maintainable, and business-critical solutions. You’ll be involved in every phase, from intake and architecture to implementation and handover.

In your first year, you’ll be paired 1-on-1 with a senior engineer who will personally mentor you. You’ll learn how to make smart architectural decisions, balance quality with impact, and collaborate closely with people who speak at top-tier tech conferences.

You’ll work in a polyglot environment, using languages like Java, Kotlin, Scala, TypeScript, and Go.You’ll also explore cutting-edge cutting-edge technologies- generative AI, microservices and event sourcing-and learn how to leverage them to move businesses forward.

  • A €5.000 annual training budget and 6 learning days per year.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, TypeScript and/or Go.
  • A polyglot mindset: you use the right tool for the job.
  • Clear communication, fast learning, and openness to feedback.
  • A technical degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with unit testing and, ideally with containerization and microservices.
  • A team player attitude and growth mindset.

Benefits & conditions

  • €60,000 - €75,000 annual salary, based on experience.
    • €11,160 mobility allowance OR a lease car
  • 5% year-end bonus on top of your salary.
  • Permanent contract from day one.
  • 1-on-1 mentoring by a senior engineer.
  • Up to 4 days per week of remote work, if preferred.
  • €5,000 training budget + 6 learning days annually.
  • 20+ internal knowledge-sharing sessions per year.
