Data Engineer

This Bristol based technology company have developed proprietary software that provides insight into heavily data-centric markets. These tools provide a leading edge over their competitors when combined with the expertise of their data science team. As the company grows, they are keen to recruit a dedicated Data Engineer who will work closely with their data scientists and full stack developers to ensure their data is of high quality and readily accessible. This would involve building and managing data pipelines (collecting, cleaning, storing and monitoring data); as well as improving overall data infrastructure.

This opportunity on offer would allow clear career progression with the company, taking overall charge of data management including strategic direction and technology usage.

• Degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or similar.
• Relevant experience in data engineering including extensive SQL and programming skills (Python or R). Exposure to Julia would be useful.
• Experience with cloud services (ideally AWS including EC2 and S3).
• Good communications skills.
• Exposure to energy markets or commodities trading would be desirable.
