Lead React Developer

This is a great opportunity for a talented React Engineer to join the new Cambridge-based design team of a successful international software company as they leverage the latest web and cloud technologies to reimagine their world-leading product. This new approach will bring up-to-date working practices and streamlined collaboration to a market traditionally dominated by standalone desktop applications, revolutionising the experience of their end users.

As Lead React Engineer, you would be a key member of the team, with considerable influence on the future development of the product architecture. Working within a start-up style environment, you will need to be a self-starter and a good problem solver; your broad software engineering skills will allow you to confidently tackle any obstacles that come your way.

Essential skills and attributes:

• Demonstrably excellent front end development skills with JavaScript and the React framework
• Strong understanding of cloud technology and a cloud-native mindset.
• Strong software engineering skills, and knowledge of industry best practice,
• A good academic background with a 1st or 2.1 degree from a good university
• Full existing right to work in the UK without restriction, time limit, or sponsorship.

Skills in GraphQL, REST, AWS / Azure / Google Cloud, Docker, containers, Kubernetes, CI / CD, Git, and Webpack, plus an understanding of SAAS, are highly valued but not essential.

This is a role where informal discussions and whiteboard sessions will feed into the architecture design. As such, it is predominantly office-based, though some flexibility will exist for home working. Offices are modern and conveniently located in Cambridge. An excellent remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate.
