Job description

This is a PC application software role as part of a growing software team within a VC funded start-up designing scientific instrumentation. You will be working alongside the engineering and biology teams to develop new instrument control and data analysis systems to allow scientists to perform complex experiments as simply and efficiently as possible.

Requirements

As a Software Developer you will have good understanding of designing C# software for commercial applications and possess a good technical degree from a top university. Your skills will include:

  • Thorough understanding of C# / WPF, in a complex, heavily multi-threaded application
  • Familiarity with Agile development concepts and test-driven development
  • Experience of source control and software build processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other teams across various disciplines

A bonus would be a strong mathematical background allowing you to contribute more to the scientific aspects of their work. Alternatively, knowledge of software for image processing / machine vision would permit involvement in that area of their development.

This dynamic company offers challenging work and a friendly, fun working environment with occasional working from home.

Keywords: Software Engineer, C#, WPF, Python, Mathematical Developer, Algorithmic Skills, Image Processing, Hybrid Working, Cambridge.
