Python Software Engineer

We are seeking an accomplished Software Engineer, with the demonstrable ability to create substantial complex software implementations using commercial quality Python. In this role you would be joining a growing mission-driven start-up creating software tools for aiding efficiency and sustainability in the construction industry.

Your Python skills would allow you to make an immediate impact in improving algorithms for extracting data from paper-based records enabling faster and more robust handling of documentation. In the longer term you would be able to expand your involvement to the entire technology stack while you pick up additional skills in these areas.

You will need:

• A solid academic grounding with a 1st or 2.1 degree in a relevant STEM subject such as Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science from a well-respected university along with good A-level (or equivalent grades).
• Excellent skills in developing substantial and complex Python applications as well as general coding skills in another object-oriented language such as C#, Java or JavaScript
• A good understanding of commercial software development
• Full existing right to work in the UK without sponsorship

Nice-to-haves, but not essential: .NET Core, Azure DevOps, React, RESTful APIs, Azure Tables, SQL Server

You will be joining a friendly, supportive team of highly skilled colleagues, participating in all aspects of the development of new capabilities for a successful product that is already in use by clients. A “remote-first” hybrid role, you will be able to work mainly remotely, with occasional visits to the London office - perhaps once per fortnight for meetings and socials.
