Principal Software Developer

The Lead Developer will enjoy technical freedom over the future developments of the trading software platform. This will include close collaboration with the traders who use the software to control and optimise assets as well as with the data science team performing the analysis., There is scope for flexible working, however in order to liaise with the traders and other developers, it is expected that you will be on-site in the central Bristol office at least 2 days per week.

• 1st or 2.1 degree in computer science, physics, maths or similar from a highly-ranked university
• Good knowledge of both front-end and back-end development, with language skills in at least two of Python, C#, React, JavaScript and R.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
• Ability to lead projects, make decisions and generate new ideas.
• Experience in the UK energy market
• Enthusiasm to work in a dynamic real-world team environment with the ability to contribute ideas
• Excellent communication skills with evidence of taking the initiative
