Job description

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native services and platform components for AI, data, and enterprise-cloud use cases.

  • Work closely with product management and customer stakeholders to understand requirements, validate assumptions, and rapidly iterate on customer-facing capabilities.

  • Build customer-focused functionality that can be generalized into reusable, configurable OCI platform services.

  • Develop scalable distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, service integrations, and automation.

  • Contribute to architecture and design decisions for reliability, performance, availability, security, and operational readiness.

  • Implement observability through telemetry, metrics, dashboards, alerts, logging, and health checks.

  • Design and execute unit, integration, performance, load, and resilience tests.

  • Diagnose and resolve production issues; participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and on-call support as needed.

  • Automate service provisioning, deployment, configuration, upgrades, rollback, and operational workflows through CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.

  • Apply secure engineering practices, including least-privilege access, encryption, secure data handling, and multi-tenant isolation.

  • Collaborate effectively across product, engineering, operations, security, and customer teams.

  • Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, engineering standards, documentation, and mentoring of less-experienced engineers., Software Development & System Design
  • Implement well-designed, maintainable, and performant software components for cloud and AI platform services.

  • Contribute to designs for scalable and resilient distributed systems.

  • Build services that support elasticity, high throughput, fault tolerance, and secure handling of customer data.

  • Participate in design reviews and propose practical solutions to technical and operational challenges.

Customer-Focused Delivery

  • Work with product management and customer-facing teams to understand workflows, technical needs, and feedback.

  • Translate customer scenarios into implementable technical requirements and high-quality product capabilities.

  • Help rapidly assess feedback and contribute recommendations for feature refinement, prioritization, and next steps.

  • Maintain focus on both immediate customer outcomes and reusable platform design.

Reliability & Operations

  • Build telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics for owned services.

  • Investigate production issues, contribute to incident response, and implement corrective actions.

  • Improve service reliability through testing, automation, capacity planning, and operational runbooks.

  • Participate in operational support rotations as required.

Security & Automation

  • Implement security controls appropriate for cloud and multi-tenant services.

  • Build and maintain deployment, configuration, and operational automation.

  • Follow established change-management, release, and rollback practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software-development experience building and operating production services or platform capabilities.

  • Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Go, Python, C++, C#, or similar.

  • Experience building distributed systems, backend services, cloud-native applications, or large-scale data-processing systems.

  • Ability to independently own moderately complex components or features from technical design through production operation.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment, manage shifting priorities, and make sound engineering decisions with incomplete information.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including experience working closely with product managers, customers, or partner engineering teams.

  • Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Data platforms or data engineering, including ingestion, storage, processing, streaming, orchestration, or governance

  • IoT platforms, device connectivity, edge-to-cloud systems, telemetry, or fleet-scale operations

  • AI/ML platforms, model training, model evaluation or harnesses, model serving, RAG, AI agents, or Model Context Protocol (MCP)

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, APIs, containers, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and service operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience., * Experience with OCI or another major public-cloud platform.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, event-driven systems, distributed data stores, or streaming platforms.

  • Experience with generative AI, RAG, model evaluation, AI agents, MCP, or enterprise AI integrations.

  • Experience with scientific, research, laboratory, IoT, or complex enterprise technology environments.

  • Experience supporting mission-critical services with defined availability, reliability, and performance objectives.
