Senior Backend / Data Platform Engineer

• Own architecture + reliability of ingestion & document-store services
• Build and harden onboarding pipelines (timeouts, circuit breakers, deduplication, DLQs)
• Lead retrieval layer (chunking, embeddings, ranking) powering AI agents
• Drive data quality across ~80 document types and hundreds of tickers
• Set engineering standards for testing, observability, incident response
• Mentor mid-level engineers and raise the bar across the team

• 8+ years building production backend/data systems
• Deep Python + strong Postgres fundamentals
• Hands-on AWS (SQS, DynamoDB, S3) + Kubernetes
• Experience scaling document/ETL pipelines (filings, transcripts, IR materials ideal)
• Orchestration experience (Dagster, Airflow, etc.)
• Proven ownership of production incidents + post-incident hardening

Nice to Have: RAG/retrieval infra experience, fintech/capital markets background
