Job description

Role summary: The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions using multiple programming languages and AI/ML integrations. The position requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving to support high-quality, reliable systems. The engineer will engage with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into effective solutions while fostering knowledge sharing and innovation within the team. About the team: The Membership Experience Engineering team at Walmart develops technology that enables seamless shopping journeys for millions of customers. Focused on delivering best-in-class experiences, the team designs and builds scalable mobile platforms that support Walmart+ innovations. What you’ll do:

  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaboration with engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using multiple programming languages, integrate AI.ML components and drive BE software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to ensure software quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and measure solution impact.
  • Monitor application performance and support CI and delivery practices.
  • Mentor peers, share knowledge, and promote engineering best practices for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in code review, debugging, and continuous development.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features or models through iterative and incremental development.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software solutions.
  • Proficiency in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems aligned with business objectives.
  • Skilled in collaborating across teams to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality software products.
