Job description

Database Operations (PostgreSQL)
Administer and optimize PostgreSQL across Amazon RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL and EC2/self-managed (where applicable).
Perform performance tuning: query plans, indexes, vacuum/analyze, autovacuum tuning, connection management (PgBouncer), partitioning, statistics, and parameter tuning.
Own backup/restore, PITR, logical/physical replication (streaming, logical decoding) and cross-region DR strategies.
Implement and maintain HA (Multi-AZ, Aurora clusters, Patroni or equivalent), DR runbooks, and failover testing.
Lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, extensions (e.g., PostGIS, pg_partman, pg_stat_statements), and schema change orchestration (e.g., with Liquibase/Flyway).
Capacity planning: storage, IOPS, throughput; prevent bloat and hot spots. Experience on open-shift containers

We’re seeking a hands-on engineer to own PostgreSQL database operations on AWS-covering provisioning, performance tuning, high availability, automation, monitoring, and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate blends deep Postgres administration with AWS platform expertise, uses Infrastructure as Code, and thrives in a production support environment with strong incident management and continuous improvement mindset.
5+ years of AWS experience
5+ years Cloud/AWS/Terraform and POstgreSQL expertise
