Job description

TCS is searching for a RHEL Virtualization Engineer / Systems Administrator to support our Missile Defense Agency (MDA) customer in Huntsville, AL. The GMD program is a portion of the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) system to protect the US and our allies from ballistic missile attack., * Support infrastructure systems on Red Hat Linux (RHEL)-based platforms

  • Support and maintain high availability, distributed, multi-clustered server infrastructure and systems
  • Responsible for server infrastructure analysis, optimization, and capacity planning
  • Accountable for system administration, identity and authentication, information system security accreditation, data storage and backup, physical infrastructure maintenance, and automation development
  • Technical writing/creation of formal documentation such as architecture diagrams, technical designs, and SOPs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 2 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Must have a DoD 8140 certification (ex: Security + CE)
  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance

Desired:

  • Experience with RHEL and Cisco Networks
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite servers and configuration
  • Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare vCenter
  • Experience with LAN and WAN management
  • Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity
  • Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Linux Operating System environments
  • Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
  • Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
