Job description

  • Implement and configure the existing Demand and Cost Tool for the client.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand local data, reporting requirements, and performance measures.
  • Design and deliver an Operational Dashboard for team managers and senior practitioners, providing insight into demand, caseloads, activity, performance, capacity, and outcomes.
  • Design and deliver a Commissioning Dashboard to support strategic planning, provider oversight, demand forecasting, cost analysis, and decision-making.
  • Lead data discovery, mapping, modelling, validation, and integration activities.
  • Develop intuitive and accessible dashboards that meet the needs of technical and non-technical users.
  • Establish robust data-quality checks and ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
  • Provide clear documentation, knowledge transfer, and guidance to internal teams.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with local government information governance, security, and accessibility requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong experience designing and delivering Power BI dashboards from discovery through to implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
  • Proven ability to translate complex operational requirements into practical reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, service managers, practitioners, commissioners, and data teams.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, validation, and reporting controls.
  • Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to lead delivery independently and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team., * Previous experience within local government, social care, children’s services, adults’ services, or commissioning.
  • Experience reporting on demand, capacity, activity, costs, outcomes, providers, and service performance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure, SQL, or wider Microsoft data platforms.
  • Experience embedding established Power BI products within new organisations or service areas.
