Job description

Looking for a Manual QA Tester to join clients team in Wrexham, working closely with developers on a platform that supports patient-facing clinical trial apps worldwide. This role involves structured, risk-based manual test execution across web and mobile applications, maintaining high quality standards in a regulated environment., * Execute manual test scripts across web portals and mobile apps (iOS and Android), covering functional, regression, and exploratory testing.

  • Test core patient-facing workflows including account and participant sign-up, form/questionnaire creation and completion, data entry, diary-style logging, eligibility checks, and notification timing.
  • Work across multiple test environments, identifying the appropriate environment for each testing task.
  • Write clear, structured manual test scripts and test steps in Jira/Xray with proper traceability to requirements/user stories.
  • Log, triage, and resolve defects with clear reproduction steps and appropriate severity/priority, collaborating with developers to address issues.
  • Test on physical devices like tablets and phones, adapting to device-specific quirks such as time zones, locale/language variants, and eligibility criteria.
  • Support localisation testing by validating translated content and locale-specific behaviour across multiple markets.
  • Work with the discipline required in a regulated environment, ensuring documentation, evidence, and process are as important as finding bugs.
  • Collaborate daily with developers and the wider distributed testing team, including overseas colleagues, to strengthen face-to-face teamwork.

Requirements

  • Solid hands-on manual testing experience across both web and mobile applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a thorough, methodical approach to finding edge cases.
  • Ability to write and execute structured test scripts/test cases; experience with Jira/Xray is a plus.
  • Precise written communication skills for creating actionable bug reports.
  • Good grasp of software testing fundamentals, including test design, coverage, regression vs. exploratory testing, and risk-based prioritisation.
  • Comfortable working with multiple physical/virtual devices side by side during testing.
  • Collaborative, team-first attitude, working closely with both testers and developers., * experience in a regulated industry such as pharma, medical devices, healthcare, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with software quality/compliance standards.
  • experience testing healthcare, medical, or clinical software.
  • Exposure to Jira and Xray.
