Job description

Our client, a fast-growing, privately owned infrastructure and technology business, is looking for a Project Manager to deliver structured cabling, electrical infrastructure and wireless projects for enterprise customers and channel partners nationwide.

You would take ownership of projects from award through to completion, managing programme, budget, subcontractors and client relationships across structured cabling, low-voltage electrical, wireless and connectivity installations. The right person will be confident running multiple projects at once, comfortable with clients, and just as comfortable getting into the detail of a technical scope as managing the commercial side.

The role is genuinely hybrid, splitting your time between the Oldham office, home working and site visits as projects require. It suits someone who is equally comfortable in each setting, rather than a purely desk-based or purely site-based role., Our client is a fast-growing, privately owned infrastructure and technology business, debt-free and financially independent, designing, installing and supporting complex connectivity and infrastructure projects for enterprise customers and channel partners nationwide.

Their portfolio spans Wi-Fi 6/7, LAN, structured cabling, fibre optic, private cellular, smart hands services, planned and reactive maintenance, AV, IP CCTV, EV charging and sustainability services, delivering everything from single high-value enterprise projects to national multi-site rollout programmes.

This is a hybrid role based from Oldham, and it is the second appointment ravensearch has made for this client following a successful placement earlier this year. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking ownership of projects from award through to completion, across structured cabling, electrical infrastructure, wireless and connectivity works
  • Producing and managing project programmes, tracking progress and resolving delays before they affect delivery
  • Managing subcontractors and installation teams, ensuring work is delivered to specification, on time and within budget
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout delivery, managing expectations and communicating clearly on progress and issues
  • Managing project costs, variations and commercial performance against budget
  • Ensuring health and safety, quality and compliance standards are maintained on every project
  • Coordinating material and equipment procurement and delivery to programme
  • Managing snagging, testing, commissioning and handover, including client sign-off and documentation
  • Working closely with the estimating and design teams to ensure a smooth handover from bid to delivery

Requirements

  • Proven project management experience within IT infrastructure, structured cabling, electrical or a related technical installation environment
  • Confident managing multiple projects concurrently, with strong programme and commercial awareness
  • Comfortable managing subcontractors and installation teams, and holding them to standard
  • Strong client-facing communication, able to manage expectations and build trust through delivery
  • Practical understanding of structured cabling, electrical infrastructure or related technical works
  • Organised and detail-focused, comfortable with programme, budget and compliance documentation
  • Full UK driving licence
