Job description

The NOC Engineer III will support network operations for the Joint Fires Network (JFN), a critical battle-management system used by the Department of Defense. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing network performance across optical and IP transport systems to ensure maximum uptime and mission effectiveness., * Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across optical and electro-optical multiplexers, routers, and switches

  • Perform real-time circuit redesign (alternate routing) to restore connectivity during outages or maintenance activities
  • Monitor network alarms using platform-specific management tools and proactively address issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and government agencies to ensure network availability and minimize operational impact
  • Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement, software configuration, and ASI management
  • Document incidents using ticketing and incident management systems, including outage analysis, escalation, and resolution tracking
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across technologies such as routing, switching, MPLS, and optical transport systems, The organization is seeking highly skilled TS/SCI-cleared NOC professionals to support critical network operations for the Joint Fires Network, ensuring continuous mission readiness and operational success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years in networking (IP or optical transport)
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Security+ CE certification (required)
  • Strong experience with:
  • Cisco and Juniper technologies
  • MPLS, IP networking, and routing protocols
  • Optical transport networks (SONET/SDH, MSPP)
  • Incident response and network operations
  • Network management tools (e.g., SolarWinds)
  • Ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA)
  • Knowledge of telecom environments including ISP/OSP and Telco NOC operations
  • Experience with circuit management, nodes, and network infrastructure, * Certifications such as CCNA or Juniper certifications are a plus
  • Experience in tech control facilities or cyber transport environments
  • Familiarity with circuit actions and vendor coordination
  • Knowledge of IP and transport architecture
  • Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, and change management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams)
