Job description

We are seeking aSenior SQL Database Administrator (DBA)to support theNavy’s Records Management mission, delivering secure, scalable, and highly resilient database solutions that enable critical information management across the enterprise.

In this role, you will apply extensivesubjectmatterexpertiseinMicrosoft SQL Server,largescaledata management, and secure database administration to design,optimize, and modernize enterprise data environments. You will work within Agile project structures-partnering closely with Program Managers, developers, and Navy stakeholders-to support database projects, manage performance baselines, ensure data accuracy, and implement secure access practices across massive datasets.

You understand that database administrators are central to mission continuity-maintainingavailability, performance, security, and recovery posture while supporting ongoing modernization initiatives. You will analyze system requirements, architect solutions, coordinate database migrations, and help the Navyestablishdurable, efficient, and compliant data management capabilities.

Requirements

  • 15+years ofexperience as aSQLServerDatabaseAdministrator withinDoD or DoWenterprise environments,includinghigh availabilityarchitecturesand advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and indexingstrategies
  • Experience with MSFT SQLServerwithin anEnterpriseAzureenvironment
  • Experience designing, implementing, andmaintainingcomplex data architectures
  • Experience managing or supporting projects involvinglarge or sensitive datasets, secure data access controls, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, or metrics usingPower BIorSQL Reporting
  • Ability to supportAgile delivery, including sprint releases, backlog refinement, and collaboration acrosscross functionalteams
  • Ability to implementdata governance, backup or restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, and auditing
  • Ability to apply senior defense and militarystakeholderfeedback and requirements
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience supporting Azure SQL, hybrid architectures, or cloud migration projects
  • Experience with data cataloging, retention, archival, or records lifecycle management
  • Experience developing or supporting ETL workflows, including SSIS or Azure Data Factory
  • Experience supporting large digital transformation or data modernization initiatives
  • Experience integrating data platforms with M365 or Power Platform ecosystems
  • Knowledgewith DevOps pipelines,CI/CD workflows, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • TopSecretclearance
  • Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
