Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer with strong expertise in Python application development and REST API development.

The successful candidate will work across data ingestion, APIs, and streaming services, contributing to the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain REST APIs for relational and non-relational databases.
  • Design and develop scalable Python applications, packages, and modules.
  • Work with data formats including Parquet and Delta.
  • Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and maintenance.
  • Develop and execute automated unit tests using pytest.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Cosmos DB.
  • Develop scalable web applications using frameworks such as Django and FastAPI.
  • Perform API testing, troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Apply Agile development practices throughout the software lifecycle.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of professional Python development experience.
  • Strong experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Strong understanding of API testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Django and/or FastAPI.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Experience writing automated tests using pytest.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Azure Data Factory.
  • Databricks.
  • Cosmos DB.
  • Experience with data ingestion and streaming services.
  • Experience working with Parquet and Delta data formats.
  • Additional Azure cloud services.
  • Experience building high-performance and scalable cloud applications.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Python developer who is comfortable working across API development, data processing, cloud technologies, testing, and CI/CD.

They should be able to take ownership of development tasks while collaborating effectively with other developers, data teams, and business stakeholders. Contract Details
