This is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic, operational, and cybersecurity oversight of a dynamic IT department serving both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary IT team spanning operations, delivery, and business applications.
  • Shape and deliver the organisation’s IT strategy in alignment with its broader goals and digital ambitions.
  • Maintain and evolve the IT infrastructure, ensuring resilience, scalability, and modernisation through technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Hyper-V.
  • Oversee all network, server, and endpoint systems, including Windows environments, SQL Server, and cloud platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in cybersecurity, ensuring up-to-date policies, regular training, and breach response readiness.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for incidents, lead post-incident reviews, and coordinate responses to cyber threats.
  • Manage supplier relationships, licensing agreements, and IT budgets with a focus on value, performance, and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with peers in creative technology, finance, HR, and external networks to share insights and align strategic priorities.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence, inclusion, and digital innovation across the organisation.

Technical Environment Includes:

  • Security Tools: McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Microsoft Defender, endpoint protection solutions
  • Networking: Cisco-based infrastructure, VOIP (e.g., Mitel), cloud backup, VPN
  • Applications: SQL Server, SCCM, PowerShell scripting, service desk management tools

About You:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role within a complex or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong background in infrastructure planning, security strategy, and enterprise-level IT operations.
  • Adept in managing IT budgets, procurement processes, and strategic partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of cyber security risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator who thrives in a cross-functional leadership environment.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is essential; industry certifications (ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco) are highly desirable.
