Data Engineer
| 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract | Remote/Hybrid - Exeter, Devon |
Up to £42,500 per annum
Our client based in the South West is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team on an initial 2-year fixed-term contract.In this role, you will work with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements and extract, transform and load data from line of business systems into the relevant Data Warehouse or Data Lake, using prescribed design principles. You will follow data protection policies and data standards at all times, advising others on these policies where required. You will also administer, manage and maintain the systems used to support data analysis, as well as producing reports and analysing data using the adopted data technologies.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the Principal Data Engineer to implement the organisations Data Strategy.
- Extract, transform and load data from line of business systems into the relevant Data Warehouse or Data Lake.
- Ensure data is structured according to the organisations design principles and complies with data protection legislation at all times.
- Undertake report creation and data analysis as required.
Your Experience, You will demonstrate proven experience within:
- Data modelling, data cleansing and data enrichment techniques.
- Statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.
- Best practice in communicating complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders.
- A range of relational databases, including SQL Server and Oracle.
The Essentials You will have a proven track record in:
- Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
- Microsoft Power BI
- Microsoft Fabric
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Basic qualifications as outlined in the job description
