Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join a well-established, privately owned business based in York.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimise Azure infrastructure to ensure availability, resilience, and performance.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and security incidents across UK and US operations.
  • Deliver cloud migration, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Administer endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune and Group Policy.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting through Azure Monitor and associated tooling.
  • Support identity and access management, including Azure AD (Entra ID) and Conditional Access policies.
  • Maintain patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on 2nd/3rd line experience in infrastructure engineering within a mid-sized business environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including networking, governance, and security controls.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD (Entra ID), Conditional Access, and endpoint protection.
  • Comfortable with automation and scripting using PowerShell and/or Bash.
  • Good understanding of incident management, end-to-end support, and continuity planning.
  • A confident communicator who can engage effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A genuine SME in at least one technical discipline - we want people who are passionate about what they do.
  • Willingness to participate in very occasional out-of-hours support.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
