About the job

In the Machine Learning as a Service lab, we design, build, and operate the bank’s Machine Learning, Data Science, and Analytics platforms. Our work includes software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, automation, and tooling. We’re a friendly group with a passion for Data and Artificial Intelligence and a vision of the untapped potential of human and machine intelligence. We aim to make the bank of the future safer, faster, and more effective by enabling machine intelligence to provide insight and direction to colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Practice scrum in a small engineering team within our Lab.
• Build scalable software using Python.
• Automate software and infrastructure delivery with technologies like Terraform, Python, Jenkins, Harness, and Cloud Build.
• Build and improve an ML cloud platform on GCP.
• Gain exposure to native Google tooling including GKE, BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Build, and more.
• Build, test, and deploy customised Workbench Instances.
• Support Data Science teams to productionise their models on GCP.
• Innovate by discovering new tools, methods, and approaches.
• Use your knowledge and experience to help shape our overarching strategy.
• Coach other engineers and steer the design of our software.

• Technical knowledge of DevOps tooling, including continuous integration tooling pipelines and containerisation.
• Solid knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform with experience in integrating and deploying Vertex AI components.
• Experience with GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Build and Harness.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Terraform and Python.
• Ability to build strong relationships and solve real-world problems with technology.
