BI Developer - Senior

BI Developer - Senior works closely with clients, business analysts and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and are in compliance with the organization’s architectural standards. They are involved in the full systems life cycle and therefore are responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget., * Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective visualizations.

• Understanding of business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Extensive expertise in Power BI, including complex data modeling, DAX scripting, and optimizing performance.
• Experience with Power Query for data transformation.
• Knowledge of data import and live connections.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within Power BI solutions.
• Familiarity with Power BI Service features, including sharing, collaboration, and administration.
• Experience managing end-to-end Power BI projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Experience in designing and developing new enterprise reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos.
• Experience with Cognos application in a development and production environment
• Experience in working with multi-dimensional and relational reporting structures.
• Experience creating and maintaining reports and creating SQL queries for data analysis.
• Ability to understand and update current reports designed in IBM Cognos.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Power BI and business intelligence.
• Responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting Business Intelligence solutions, including reporting, dashboarding, and templates for self-service BI.
• Installs and configures BI tools.
• Develops the semantic layers for the BI tools utilized by the organization.
• Creates reports, dashboards, and templates.
• May assist in the design of databases and data warehouse to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.
• Delivers end-user training and support.
• Implements and administrates security model.
• Participates in the project planning process as a team member and/or project lead.
• Provides technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
• Develop and implement Power BI solutions to meet the organization’s reporting and analytical needs.

Deliverables:

• Explores the data and discovers patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends.
• Builds the capability for OLAP cube analysis.
• Designs and develops enterprise-wide “views” and highly complex reports, dashboards, and templates that enable self-service BI.
• Documents the design of BI solutions.
• Evaluate business intelligence tools or products where applicable.

• Minimum of eight years hands-on experience in developing BI solutions including reporting, dashboard, and templates, such as Crystal reports, Web Intelligence reports, Xcelsius dashboards, Power Bi Dashboards, Tableau dashboards, and Business Objects Universes.
• Solid understanding of database, data mart, and data warehouse architecture, designs, and modeling.
• Excellent working knowledge of RDBMS and SQL queries (Oracle, Sql Server and DB2).
• Experience leading workshops with business to gather requirements.
• Experience with security model implementation and administration of various BI tools · Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to describe challenges and solutions in both technical and business terms.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships at all organizational levels with internal and external stakeholders.
