Senior Power BI Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support an upcoming federal contract. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced business intelligence solutions using Power BI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights, enabling strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud-based data systems, with a focus on delivering scalable and efficient dashboards and reports., * Develop and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to meet diverse business needs.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
• Design and implement robust ETL pipelines utilizing tools such as Informatica, Talend, or custom scripting in Python or Shell.
• Manage data integration from various sources including AWS, Azure Data Lake, Hadoop, and SQL databases.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all BI solutions.
• Support data warehouse design and dimensional modeling to facilitate efficient querying and analysis.
• Implement best practices for query management, performance tuning, and version control.
• Work within Agile development frameworks to deliver iterative enhancements and new features.
• Conduct analysis of large datasets using Big Data systems like Spark or Hadoop for insights generation.
• Develop RESTful APIs for data access and integration with other enterprise applications.
• Assist in model training and analytics initiatives to enhance predictive capabilities.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud databases such as Azure Data Lake or AWS Redshift.
• Proficiency in Power BI development along with expertise in DAX, Power Query M language, and report publishing.
• Strong knowledge of Big Data systems including Hadoop, Spark, Apache Hive, and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Informatica or Talend; scripting skills in Python, Bash (Unix shell), or Shell Scripting are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure Public Cloud or AWS for data warehousing and analytics solutions.
• Understanding of data modeling principles including dimensional modeling for data warehousing.
• Knowledge of software development practices including version control, RESTful API design, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights using advanced analytics techniques.
• Experience with business intelligence tools like Looker or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to convey technical concepts clearly.
