Job description

The Sr. Lane Systems Technician supports the Lane Systems for Toll Collection by configuring, deploying/installing, monitoring, and maintaining systems, troubleshooting systems issues, tracking system trends, testing equipment and applications. The position also requires technicians to be on a rotating on-call schedule, work overtime when necessary, and be available for emergency call-outs during off hours, non-scheduled weekends, and holidays., * Supports and maintains Tolling systems by troubleshooting problems, equipment failures, replacing defective parts, upgrading, installing software/firmware updates on various devices, maintaining gate controllers, and troubleshooting data network.

  • Uses their knowledge of color-coded cable to Complete cabling and wiring of cabinets and gantry buildings.
  • Documents work through the ticketing system and responding to emails and phone calls to calls to support SOC.
  • Performs preventive and proactive maintenance on Tolling equipment, according to manufacturer’s guidelines by inspecting, testing, and servicing the equipment to ensure proper system operations and reduce downtime.
  • Terminate various cables and connections such as Cat-5, Cat-6, Coax, Camera cable and unique wire specific to certain devices.
  • Provide updates using Microsoft Office Applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Interfaces equipment to hardware, configures IP-based equipment, and runs commands with the ability to understand Linux OS.
  • Works with analytics team to resolve issues.
  • Assists in testing and preparing equipment for production.
  • Installs Tolling camera pole and mounts, deploys UPS batteries in weights of 75lbs and more, mounts tolling equipment, transports tolling cabinets, and cable spools.
  • Performs arial work of up to 25ft with the assistance of a bucket truck
  • Installs new gantries during construction phases of projects which will involve constant bending, the use of mechanical tools and lengthy periods standing.

Requirements

M inimum:

  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • At least 2 years and up to and including 3 years of technical experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements, including lifting, carrying, climbing, balancing, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling objects of various weights, as well as the ability to conduct aerial work for extended period of time.

Preferred:

  • Linux Certification

Benefits & conditions

Starting Rate: Minimum: $23.54/hourly - Midpoint: $30.98/hourly

Retention Bonus: $1,500
