Java Lead Software Engineer

We are looking for an exceptional technology leader to join our Equities Electronic Trading organization as a Senior Vice President. This is a rare opportunity to define and build the next generation of low-latency execution technology that powers one of the industry’s most sophisticated electronic trading businesses.

As a senior engineering leader, you will own the strategy, architecture, and delivery of mission-critical trading platforms that operate at the forefront of speed, scale, and innovation. You will lead the evolution of our algorithmic trading ecosystem, developing cutting-edge execution engines that directly influence trading performance, client outcomes, and market competitiveness.

This role combines deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership influence. You will work alongside business leaders, quantitative researchers, traders, and world-class engineers to create high-performance systems that operate in demanding, real-time market environments.

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including significant experience building and scaling high-performance, latency-sensitive platforms.
• Deep expertise in Core Java with a strong understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, memory management, garbage collection optimization, and performance tuning.
• Proven success designing and delivering electronic trading, algorithmic execution, or market connectivity platforms within Equities or other electronic markets.
• Strong understanding of market structure, execution workflows, FIX protocol, and high-throughput market data systems.

• Expertise in designing and operating distributed, event-driven, and micro-services architectures at scale.

• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and translating business objectives into technology road maps.
• Experience building high-performing engineering teams and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across engineering, business, trading, and executive leadership teams.

• Experience with high-performance messaging, data grid, and event-streaming technologies such as Solace, AMPS, Chronicle, or KDB+ or more.
• Expertise in infrastructure automation and platform engineering tools, including Ansible or more.
• Experience with high-performance systems programming languages such as Rust.
• Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
