Job description
Salary: Up to £55,000
Team: IT Applications
A London Market insurance business is looking to hire a mid-level Application Test Engineer to join its growing IT Applications team.
This hire comes as part of a team transition, and they’re keen to bring in someone who is currently operating in a manual testing role and is genuinely motivated to expand further into automation.
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in software testing / QA
- Experience testing internally developed web applications
- Some exposure to automation testing and a clear desire to develop further
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools
- Understanding of test design techniques (e.g. boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, risk-based testing)
- ISTQB certification (or equivalent)
- Experience within the insurance sector (London Market / General Insurance preferred)
They’re a small team, so personality and collaboration matter. You’ll need to be confident enough to constructively challenge Developers, comfortable working closely with stakeholders, and proactive in improving quality processes.
Package & Working Model
- Up to £55,000
- Hybrid working - 3 days per week in the London office
- Opportunity to genuinely grow into a stronger automation-focused tester
If you’re currently heavily manual but ready to move your career toward automation in a supportive environment, this could be a strong next step.
