Job description

Summary

We are seeking a highly-analytical and commercially-minded Pricing Data Architect to design and manage the data foundations that enable modern pricing, packaging, deal governance, and commercial analytics across the business. This role will serve as the bridge between Sales, Finance, Product, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, and Data Operations, ensuring that pricing decisions are supported by trusted data, scalable architecture, and actionable insights. The successful candidate will own the design of pricing analysis models, and analytics capabilities that help Smart Communications optimise pricing strategy, accelerate decision-making and automate decisioning support to support sustainable revenue growth.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Design and maintain enterprise pricing data models spanning:
  • CRM (Salesforce)
  • CPQ systems
  • Product usage and customer data
  • Earned and Discretionary Discounting
  • Renewals
  • Upsell and cross-sell performance
  • Define data and metadata standards and governance for pricing-related data.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks measuring:
  • Price realisation
  • Discounting performance and compliance
  • Win-rate impacts
  • Packaging adoption and effectiveness
  • Competitive pricing effectiveness
  • Deliver regular commercial performance reviews for GTM leadership.
  • Partner with Commercial, Finance, Product and Pricing teams to define pricing KPIs.
  • Support commercial planning cycles with pricing simulations and scenario modelling.

Pricing Data Architecture

  • Design and maintain enterprise pricing data models spanning:
  • CRM (Salesforce)
  • CPQ systems
  • Product usage and customer data
  • Create a unified commercial data architecture supporting:
  • List pricing
  • Contracted pricing
  • Earned and Discretionary Discounting
  • Renewals
  • Upsell and cross-sell performance
  • Define data and metadata standards and governance for pricing-related data.

Pricing Analytics & Insight

  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks measuring:
  • Price realisation
  • Discounting performance and compliance
  • Win-rate impacts
  • Packaging adoption and effectiveness
  • Competitive pricing effectiveness
  • Deliver regular commercial performance reviews for GTM leadership.

Commercial Data Strategy

  • Partner with Commercial, Finance, Product and Pricing teams to define pricing KPIs.
  • Support commercial planning cycles with pricing simulations and scenario modelling.

Governance & Controls

  • Establish pricing data quality standards.
  • Define controls around pricing changes, discounting and approval workflows.

Business Partnering

  • Translate complex pricing issues into executive-ready recommendations.
  • Present findings and opportunities to leadership and board stakeholders.

Key Objectives

  • Establish a single source of truth for pricing and commercial performance data.
  • Enable measurement of realised price uplift, pricing adoption, discount effectiveness, and commercial outcomes.
  • Design scalable pricing analytics within the Databricks and BI environment.
  • Develop governance and reporting frameworks supporting and executive decision-making.

Must have skills and experience :

  • 5+ years in Pricing Analytics and one or more of:
  • Revenue Operations
  • Commercial Analytics
  • Data Architecture
  • Data Analysis
  • Business Intelligence
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale data models.
  • Advanced expertise with SQL or similar technologies.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Databricks
  • Salesforce
  • CPQ platforms
  • B2B SaaS or adjacent-industry pricing experience.
  • Experience building leadership dashboards and KPI frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex data into business recommendations.
