Design, implement, and maintain performant, resilient, and scalable backend services built predominantly in Scala;
Focus on engineering excellence and coding through hands-on problem-solving and delivery;
Engage in technical design and implementation to ensure robust, scalable solutions aligned with industry best practices;
Contribute to all stages of the product engineering life cycle, including solutioning, design, coding, and testing;
Promote collaboration and transparency within the team to drive high-quality outcomes;
Take ownership of work and proactively assume responsibilities aligned with product engineering needs;
Apply LSEG engineering principles to build with purpose and foster technical excellence;

Strong understanding of event-driven microservices architecture, including design pitfalls and best practices;
Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architecture principles;
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes;
Experience with event-driven communication patterns;
Expertise in building and maintaining DevOps pipelines, ideally with GitLab;
Experience with shift-left testing using JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, PACT, and Test Containers;
Working knowledge of Kafka and MQ;
Advanced Scala programming skills across functional and object-oriented paradigms;
Practical expertise with Scala, Akka, Play Framework, Cats, and Scalaz;
Experience delivering enterprise-grade Scala applications in production environments;
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and multithreading;
Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases such as Postgres;
Working knowledge of object storage solutions such as AWS S3;
Familiarity with Flyway and Liquibase;
Experience with major public cloud platforms, preferably AWS;
Hands-on experience with AWS Aurora, MSK, S3, and IAM;
Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts;
Strong understanding of and commitment to agile working;
Experience with Scrum and Kanban;
Experience participating in sprint ceremonies, including Product Backlog Refinement;
Proven collaboration with cross-functional teams in scaled agile environments;
Experience writing applications using Java;
Experience developing web applications using ReactJS.
