Job description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Technician for a night role supporting AWS’s global cloud infrastructure. In this position, you’ll monitor and maintain servers, storage, and network hardware, respond to alarms and incidents, and perform hands-on installations and troubleshooting in a fast-paced data center environment. You’ll follow detailed runbooks and SOPs, ensure physical security and safety standards, and partner with engineering and operations teams. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hardware work, complex technical challenges, and learning advanced cloud technologies on the job., * Monitor and maintain AWS data center infrastructure during night shifts, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Perform hardware installations, swaps, and troubleshooting for servers, storage, and network equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve alarms, incidents, and service tickets within defined SLAs.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and health checks on critical systems.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and update documentation for changes and incidents.
  • Collaborate with network, systems, and facilities teams to support large-scale cloud operations.
  • Ensure compliance with security, safety, and access control policies in the data center.
  • Assist with capacity planning, inventory management, and hardware lifecycle activities.
