Job description

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. In this role, the candidate will assist with implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure. Essential Functions:

  • Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper Networks

  • Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to connectivity, latency, and packet loss

  • Implement and maintain essential networking technologies such as VLANs, routing protocols (like OSPF and BGP), and fundamental network security measures

  • Troubleshoot network incidents across LAN/WAN environments, conducting root cause analysis and documenting resolutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support network changes, upgrades, and infrastructure initiatives

  • The candidate will travel to remote sites to oversee and carry out network installations, troubleshoot issues independently, and update Program staff on progress

  • The candidate might need to assist with essential tasks outside normal business hours, such as evenings and weekends, if necessary., Job Description: In this position, you will serve as a Principal Network Engineer supporting multiple advanced defense and space programs with a primary focus on the Space Develo…
