Platform Engineer - Motability Operations Ltd

As a Platform Engineer in the Container Platform Team, you’ll play a key role in developing, improving, and supporting secure, scalable, and automated container platform services-primarily RedHat OpenShift on AWS. The platform is well-established, and you’ll help ensure it continues to evolve in line with business needs and is consumed in a “Platform as a” model.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering and continually improving our OpenShift platforms on AWS
  • Ensuring platform performance, availability, security, and capacity meet business needs
  • Driving automation of platform operations and infrastructure delivery (IaC)
  • Supporting the migration and onboarding of services to the container platform
  • Maintaining up-to-date documentation of platform configuration and processes
  • Contributing to roadmap planning and prioritisation
  • Supporting business continuity through resilient platform design

About You

You’re a hands-on engineer with a pragmatic mindset and a passion for cloud-native technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex problems with scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in platform engineering or similar roles
  • 2+ years designing, building, configuring, and operating container platforms (OpenShift or Kubernetes)
  • Solid experience with public cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
  • Strong Linux knowledge, scripting skills, and significant experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture, networking, and distributed systems
  • Awareness of governance, compliance, and security best practices
