Senior Solutions Architect, Strategic Accounts, Strategic Accounts

As a Solutions Architect, you will provide architectural and technical leadership to a portfolio of customers who are looking to leverage AWS services at scale. You will be the domain expert guiding architectural design decisions, while demonstrating customer obsession to ensure high availability and performance of the customers applications. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and be curious while evangelizing the latest innovations and best practices in infrastructure, engineering and application design. You will mentor peers and customers while growing your knowledge.

8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases
• Strong technical acumen to understand the customer landscape, identify opportunities, overcome technical obstacles, and ultimately influence the adoption of AWS services in conjunction with business requirements.
• Strong business acumen to comprehend the business domain, customer/partner challenges, and propose solutions to address their business problems effectively.
• Experience interacting with and presenting to senior leadership (e.g., CxOs) within customer or partner organizations, effectively communicating complex technical concepts and solutions.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. The ideal candidate will also possess customer facing skills that will enable them to be strong advocates of AWS within the customer’s environment. They should be comfortable driving discussions with a wide range of customer personnel from enterprise architects to developers regarding trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the customer technical engagement, working cross-organizationally to facilitate widespread use and adoption of the AWS platform, and developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
