Senior Java Software Engineer

About the roleIn this role, you will contribute to building a simulation and prediction platform for a global fashion retailer operating across 200+ online and 90+ offline markets. You will help design solutions that enable better decision-making for distribution center capacity, reducing risks of overstock and inventory gaps through data-driven insights.ResponsibilitiesDevelop backend features for a complex platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliable real?time predictionsCollaborate closely with engineers, QA specialists, and stakeholders to align on requirements, architecture, and delivery prioritiesBuild and maintain microservices using Java and the Spring ecosystem, ensuring clean architecture and efficient data processingImplement and maintain integrations with messaging systems, APIs, and data storage solutionsEnsure code quality through unit, integration, and E2E testing, applying best practices and testing toolsContribute to technical decision?making, documentation, and continuous improvement of system design and development processesRequirementsStrong proficiency in Java 11+, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, relational databases, and MongoHands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems, REST APIs, and OpenAPI standardsGood knowledge of testing tools and practicesFamiliarity with tools such as Maven, Webpack, Grafana, Graylog, and SonarQubeUnderstanding of design principles, including SOLID, GRASP, and domain-driven designExperience with microservices, real-time data processing, and scalable application designStrong communication skills, ability to estimate work, document decisions, and collaborate in Agile environmentsUpper-intermediate or higher English level for effective communication with global teamsFluent Spanish proficiency for effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholdersSoftServe is an equal opportunity employer.
