Job description

A leading healthcare technology organization is seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to support on-premises infrastructure and enterprise applications. This role focuses on Linux system administration, virtualization, monitoring, storage management, and platform reliability. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with development, cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to improve infrastructure stability, deployment efficiency, and operational excellence., o Perform Linux operating system provisioning, patching, upgrades, kernel updates, and lifecycle management. o Administer, maintain, and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. o Support infrastructure monitoring and logging platforms including Syslog, Splunk, and ELK Stack. o Create and maintain dependency diagrams, data flow diagrams, and sequence diagrams. o Manage network storage, file systems, NFSv4 configurations, and Kerberos-based access controls. o Support database backup administration, configuration management, and recovery processes. o Maintain and support virtualization platforms including Proxmox and virtualization management tools. o Collaborate with development, cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to improve platform resilience. o Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support incident response activities. o Develop technical documentation, validation records, and operational procedures. o Participate in infrastructure maintenance activities and support system reliability initiatives., o Linux Administration o Red Hat Enterprise Linux o Proxmox o Infrastructure Support o Splunk o ELK Stack o Syslog o NFS o Kerberos o Virtualization o TCP/IP Networking o Systems Documentation

Requirements

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. o Experience administering Linux operating systems in enterprise environments. o Strong knowledge of Linux provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management. o Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Syslog, Splunk, or ELK Stack. o Knowledge of NFSv4, Kerberos authentication, file shares, and network storage systems. o Experience supporting database backups, configuration management, and recovery processes. o Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, including Proxmox or similar platforms. o Strong documentation skills, including architecture, dependency, and data flow diagrams. o Excellent verbal and written communication skills. o Ability to follow documentation standards and accurately record validation activities. o Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset. o Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications: o Experience with Nagios, Zabbix, or Grafana dashboard and alert development. o Knowledge of CIFS, SMB, and cross-platform file sharing between Windows and Linux systems. o Experience with DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP network administration. o Experience supporting GPU passthrough in virtualized environments. o Familiarity with Perforce and Git source control tools. o Experience supporting audit, compliance, and governance requirements. o Experience collaborating with cybersecurity teams to maintain security baselines and mitigate risks. o Experience participating in on-call support rotations and infrastructure incident response activities.
