Job description

Analyze and enhance existing features, supporting the art direction vision and the artists who create it

  • Design and develop new features for our engine that help us achieve world-class visual quality while meeting our performance and memory constraints, and artist-facing tools to support these features
  • Study modern developments in graphics technology, and translate them into practical features for the rendering system
  • Work is done mostly in C++ and PSSL (an HLSL-like shader language), but Python is also required in some of our workflows
  • Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards
  • Create and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code

Requirements

Ability to work under tight time constraints and deadlines

  • Able to own large engine features from start to finish
  • Must have a positive and supportive attitude and enjoy working with others, 8+ year experience in games or a related field
  • BS or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States
  • Excellent communication across disciplines
  • Excellent 3D math skills
  • Passionate about making great games This position is open for on-site hybrid, candidates must be eligible to work in the US. Remote may be considered for senior candidates.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s salary range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. As this is a flexible role that can be performed remotely, this means that the salary range will vary based on geographic location. Please note that individual pay will be set within this salary range based on location as well as skills and experience related to the job. Additionally, the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying salary ranges based on geographic location. The base salary range for this role is: $159,500-287,200
