Job description
The System Administrator is responsible for the management, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, endpoints, identity systems, Microsoft 365, and core technology platforms. This role ensures system reliability, security, and performance across both on-premises and cloud environments while supporting clinical, operational, and business functions., * Manage endpoint lifecycle processes using Microsoft Intune, including deployment, compliance, configuration, and patching.
- Maintain Windows desktop and laptop environments.
- Support Autopilot provisioning and device standardization.

Enforce endpoint security baselines, policies, and configuration standards.

Identity and Access Management
- Administer Active Directory users, groups, Group Policy Objects, and organizational units.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and conditional access.
- Support access control processes, least privilege, and role-based access models.

Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and access review activities.

Microsoft 365 Administration
- Manage Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Support licensing, mailbox management, email security, and collaboration tools.

Maintain data governance, retention, and security controls within Microsoft 365.

Server and Virtualization Management
- Administer Windows and Linux servers.
- Manage virtualization environments, including Proxmox VE or equivalent platforms.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, storage, and capacity.

Support backup and recovery operations using Veeam or equivalent solutions.

Network and Infrastructure Support
- Assist with network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and related equipment.
- Perform structured cabling, patching, and IDF/MDF organization.

Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, system configurations, and infrastructure changes.

Security and Compliance Support
- Implement and maintain security controls across systems and infrastructure.
- Support vulnerability management, patch compliance, and remediation efforts.
- Assist with audit readiness activities related to ISO 27001, HIPAA, and other applicable requirements.

Monitor logs, alerts, and security events, escalating risks as appropriate.

Monitoring and Operations
- Monitor systems using tools such as Zabbix or equivalent platforms.
- Respond to alerts and troubleshoot infrastructure, endpoint, network, and server issues.

Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and support knowledge articles.

Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, new system implementations, and IT projects.
- Assist with automation, scripting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support IT roadmap execution, technology modernization, and operational efficiency efforts
Requirements
Do you have experience in VLAN?, Do you have a Associate’s degree in information technology?, Associates Degree in Information Technology from an Accredited Technical College or University.
Experience administering Windows endpoints, servers, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, including switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with endpoint management, patching, monitoring, and system documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across endpoint, server, network, and cloud environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to follow security, compliance, and change management procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Experience with Proxmox VE, Veeam, Zabbix, or similar infrastructure platforms.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, ISO 27001, cybersecurity controls, or audit support.
- Experience working in healthcare, clinical, or regulated environments.
- Basic scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
