Job description

Lead DevEx Engineer - Cloud Platform Team

We are a growth-stage fintech building an embedded finance platform that enables partners worldwide to offer innovative funding products to small-business customers. Our teams operate across London, Nottingham, Atlanta, Stockholm, Munich and Mumbai, focusing on autonomy, ownership and impact.

About the Role

As a Lead DevEx Engineer you will improve how our engineers build, ship and operate services. This brand-new role bridges application development and platform engineering, creating a consistent, scalable developer experience as we evolve our platform strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the service template library for .NET, Node.js and Python - covering project scaffolding, dependency management, containerisation, local development setup and production configuration.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline templates in GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps, ensuring consistency across stacks and reusability across teams.
  • Define and ship observability standards: structured logging, distributed tracing and alerting integrated into service templates so every new service is production-ready from day one.
  • Build the platform-level observability layer using Datadog, incident.io, and/or GCP/Azure native logging and monitoring tooling.
  • Contribute to an Azure-to-GCP migration strategy - assessing changes to developer tooling and service templates and building proof-of-concept work.
  • Partner with product engineers to diagnose developer experience pain points and implement lasting solutions.
  • Lead technical decisions on platform tooling: evaluate new tools, write ADRs and drive adoption across engineering teams.
  • Mentor and support Cloud Platform team engineers and serve as a go-to resource for product engineers working with platform tooling.

Interview Process

  • Screening call with Internal Recruiter (30 minutes)
  • Video interview with Hiring Manager (45 minutes)
  • In-person code-pairing interview with an Engineering team member (1 hour)
  • Video interview with the wider Liberis team (1 hour)

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in at least one of .NET (C#), Node.js, or Python - able to build, configure, and template production-grade services.
  • Strong GCP experience (Azure experience is desirable).
  • Hands-on experience designing reusable CI/CD pipeline templates in GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Comfortable with containerisation (Docker) and deployment on Kubernetes or Cloud Run.
  • Observability experience with Datadog, incident.io, or cloud-native logging and monitoring (GCP Cloud Operations or Azure Monitor).
  • Infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform.
  • Track record of driving adoption - building tools that engineers use, writing documentation that is read.

Hybrid Working Policy

Team members are required to be in the office at least three days a week, but we also value flexibility and encourage collaboration and efficient workflow.

Requirements
