This role requires on-site presence at Asda House in Leeds for at least three days per week.

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate individual looking to transition into the world of Data Architecture. You’ll be supported with comprehensive training in cutting-edge technologies including Azure and Databricks to grow into a Data Architect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and evolve enterprise-wide data models across key domains like Product, Customer, Supply, Finance, and Location
  • Apply Kimball dimensional modelling for consumption layer design and Data Vault methodology for raw and business layer integration
  • Define and maintain data architecture principles, patterns, and standards
  • Collaborate with data platform teams on governance, quality, lineage, and optimisation
  • Consult with squads on physical data modelling
  • Contribute to metadata and data catalog initiatives to improve discoverability and reuse
  • Support our shift to a Data Product Ownership model, enabling domain-aligned teams

Core Skills & Experience

  • Experience in architecture in a complex organisation
  • Expertise in Kimball and Data Vault 2.0 methodologies
  • Data modelling, metadata, and governance knowledge
  • Ability to define and drive architecture principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Retail industry experience is a bonus but not a deal breaker
