Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote Software Engineer., * Modernize and migrate an existing application from .NET Framework 4 to .NET 10

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Develop scalable web applications using C#/.NET and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Work with SQL Server and other relational and NoSQL database technologies
  • Containerize applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery processes
  • Troubleshoot application performance, integration, and production issues
  • Collaborate with developers, technical stakeholders, and project teams throughout the modernization effort

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support a short-term application modernization and migration initiative. This role will focus heavily on migrating an existing application from .NET Framework 4 to .NET 10, modernizing application components, and developing scalable APIs and services.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET, API development, SQL Server, modern JavaScript frameworks, and microservices architecture, along with experience working in containerized and CI/CD environments., * 5+ years of professional .NET development experience

  • Strong experience with C#/.NET and .NET Core
  • Hands-on experience migrating or modernizing applications, including migration from .NET Framework 4 to modern .NET
  • Experience with .NET 10 or recent versions of .NET
  • Strong REST/RESTful API development experience
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Strong SQL Server experience
  • Experience developing modern web applications
  • Strong JavaScript experience
  • Experience with one or more modern JavaScript frameworks, including: Angular; React.js; Vue; Node.js
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Experience troubleshooting application performance and production issues
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and continuous delivery

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Cloudera
  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • Snowflake
  • Splunk

Ideal Candidate: The strongest candidates will be experienced .NET modernization engineers who can quickly step into an existing application, understand legacy architecture, and contribute immediately to its migration toward .NET 10, APIs, and modern application architecture.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
