Job description
The Systems Engineer partners with product management, business stakeholders, solution architects, and software development teams to define and deliver software solutions that meet business objectives. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements, developing system and software designs, and documenting the target-state architecture required to support future capabilities.
The Systems Engineer serves as the technical lead during solution definition, ensuring requirements are complete, architectures are scalable and maintainable, and software engineering teams have the technical direction needed to successfully implement complex capabilities.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product management, and software engineering teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional technical requirements.

Develop end-to-end software solution designs, define and document current-state and target-state architectures, and identify the changes required to achieve future capabilities.

Identify cross-team dependencies, technical risks, and architectural impacts across multiple software domains.

Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, scalability objectives, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

5+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, solution engineering, or software architecture.

Experience leading requirements analysis and use case definition, and producing interface control documentation, ConOps documentation, and test plans.

Experience translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements for Agile software development teams.

Experience developing software system designs and architecture documentation.

Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, APIs, and modern software development practices.

Experience with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Excellent analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.

Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar engineering collaboration tools.

INCOSE, SAFe, AWS, Azure, GCP or other relevant technical certifications are preferred.

Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
