This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within one of the world’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic high-performance programmes, supporting coaches and athletes through video analysis, data collection and performance insights.

Working at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester, you’ll contribute to the preparation of world-class athletes as the GBCT continues its journey towards LA 2028.

As Data & Insights Analyst, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of performance analysis services across training environments, capturing and organising video and performance data that informs coaching decisions and athlete development.

This flexible, casual role is ideal for aspiring performance analysts looking to gain valuable experience within an elite sporting environment.

Typical working hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons (1:30pm-5:00pm), although hours will vary depending on operational needs and your availability.

Performance Analysis

  • Film training sessions across the Great Britain Cycling Team programme.
  • Tag and code footage using performance analysis software.

  • Assist in the delivery of applied performance analysis within daily training.

Data Collection & Management

  • Support the maintenance, calibration and setup of performance data logging devices.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent data acquisition.
  • Organise and maintain video and performance data within departmental databases.
  • Contribute to efficient data management processes that support athlete development.

High-Performance Support

  • Work collaboratively with coaches and support staff.
  • Assist in delivering high-quality performance support across the GBCT programme.
  • Contribute to a professional, athlete-focused performance environment.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive, reliable and professional approach.
  • A genuine interest in high-performance sport.
  • The ability to work within a multidisciplinary performance environment.

This role offers an outstanding opportunity to gain practical experience within one of the world’s most successful high-performance sport programmes.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work alongside world-class coaches and athletes.
  • Develop practical skills in video analysis and applied performance support.
  • Gain experience in elite data capture and performance systems.
  • Build valuable experience for a future career in high-performance sport.
  • Enjoy flexible working that fits around study or other commitments.

The Great Britain Cycling Team is Britain’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic team, having won 11 Olympic and 22 Paralympic medals at the Paris Games.
