Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)

I’m currently working with a large fintech firm with a global presence that’s embarking on a major modernisation project-rebuilding their legacy trading system from the ground up. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, focused team delivering a modern, high-performance trading application using cutting-edge tech in a fast-paced front-office environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing scalable backend services in Java and/or Kotlin
• Building and deploying containerised apps with Kubernetes & Docker
• Working with MongoDB and Databricks for data processing and analytics
• Collaborating on system design and integration with relational databases
• Engaging directly with stakeholders and tech leads in a fast-moving project

Required Experience

• 2+ years backend development in Java and/or Kotlin within financial systems
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker & MongoDB
• Hands-on with Databricks and exposure to relational DBs
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, unit testing, and debugging
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
