DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer - CI/CD

As a DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the stability, scalability and maintainability of modern IT environments. You will work with CI/CD pipelines, Linux systems, container technologies, automation tools, monitoring solutions and production-related operating standards.

This position is suitable for candidates who have already worked with productive systems and understand that DevOps is not only about tools. It is about stable release processes, clear automation, reproducible infrastructure, operational responsibility and continuous improvement.

Your role as DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer

In this position, you will work at the interface between development, operations, infrastructure and security. Your task will be to improve deployment processes, automate recurring technical workflows and help ensure that applications and platforms run reliably in productive environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building, maintaining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery
• Automating recurring deployment, infrastructure and operating processes
• Supporting and further developing cloud-based or on-premises infrastructure environments
• Working with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Supporting stable release processes together with software development teams
• Monitoring, logging and analyzing productive systems
• Troubleshooting deployment, infrastructure, availability and performance issues
• Implementing technical standards for operations, security, compliance and documentation
• Improving system reliability through automation, standardization and structured processes
• Documenting technical workflows, dependencies, operating procedures and platform decisions
• Collaborating closely with software development, IT operations, infrastructure and IT security teams

This role requires a practical engineering mindset. You should be able to understand productive systems, identify technical weak points and build automation that improves reliability instead of adding unnecessary complexity., Modern industrial IT environments depend on stable platforms, predictable deployments and reliable automation. Systems must be available, secure and maintainable. Development teams need efficient release processes, while operations teams require transparency, monitoring and control.

The role is a strong fit if you have already supported productive IT systems, automated deployments and worked with development teams on stable release workflows. It is less suitable if your experience has mainly been in first-level support, second-level support, pure Windows administration or private cloud learning projects without responsibility for productive environments.

We are looking for a technically experienced IT professional with a strong DevOps or platform engineering background. You should have practical experience with productive environments and the confidence to take responsibility for stable systems and deployment processes., * Several years of practical experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Engineer or System Engineer with a DevOps focus

• Solid experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or comparable solutions
• Strong Linux knowledge in productive operating environments
• Practical experience with scripting and automation, for example Bash, Python, PowerShell or Ansible
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Good understanding of networks, security, monitoring and deployment processes
• Experience in troubleshooting productive systems and analyzing technical incidents
• Structured working style and clear technical documentation
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
• Good English skills for technical documentation, tools and international technology environments
• Willingness to take responsibility for productive systems and operational reliability

This role requires more than theoretical DevOps knowledge. You should be familiar with real deployment processes, system dependencies, monitoring signals and the pressure that comes with productive IT environments.

Additional experience that would be beneficial

The following qualifications are not mandatory, but would be a strong advantage:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, for example Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or Pulumi
• Cloud experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps or platform engineering concepts
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenSearch or comparable technologies
