Job description

investigating source-system data structures, -identifying relationships and data-quality issues, and -using SQL and related migration tools to build, test, and refine repeatable migration logic tailored to each agency’s data. Other responsibilities include working directly with agency stakeholders to translate migration requirements and operational needs into reliable, repeatable technical solutions, and collaborating with implementation, product, and agency stakeholders to support successful go-lives. Candidates for this role should be excited about pushing the boundaries and adopting new technologies and tools to accomplish successful customer outcomes. This role requires the ability to adapt quickly, a drive for results, and a “never satisfied” mentality. You will be an early team member of this fast-growing and exciting line of business at oracle What you will do:

  • Partner with public safety agencies, project teams, and technical stakeholders to define each data migration scope, requirements, priorities, and success criteria.
  • Work directly with public safety agencies to understand legacy-system data, operational workflows, and migration requirements covering dispatch, records, and jail data.
  • Use SQL and related migration tools to extract, analyze, transform, and validate historical data.
  • Investigate source-system data structures, relationships, and data-quality issues, and document data mappings and transformation rules for each migration.
  • Build, test, and maintain repeatable migration logic tailored to each agency’s source data and mapping requirements.
  • Investigate migration issues, data discrepancies, and validation feedback; refine migration logic and execute iterative migration cycles through agency validation and acceptance.
  • Communicate progress, risks, issues, and dependencies to both internal and external project stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Support migration planning and execution for production go-lives, including post-migration validation and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to reusable migration practices, tools, and standards across Public Safety implementations.
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, Support, and Implementation teams to resolve technical issues and help develop reusable migration tools and practices for future projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, data analysis, data migration, database development, or related technical discipline.
  • Proven ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Skill in analyzing source-system data structures, relationships, and data-quality issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, such as Oracle and SQL Server, and data formats, such as CSV, XML, and JSON.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work directly with agency stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with agencies, project teams, and technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

It would be awesome if you also had:

  • Knowledge/familiarity with Oracle products and services, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Experience working in a public safety position.
  • Management experience including developing and leading a team.
  • Experience with product development tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience with AI development tools.
