Job description

A client of Insight Global is looking for FPGA Engineers to sit fully onsite in Baltimore, MD. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and support FPGA-based solutions. Daily responsibilities include performing FPGA design, simulation, verification, and troubleshooting; creating and executing test plans; conducting hardware testing using oscilloscopes and FPGA debugging tools; and analyzing results to ensure performance requirements are met. You will support system integration and test efforts, manage timing and power constraints, perform engineering analyses, implement design changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable digital solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing FPGA/firmware solutions using the VHDL programming language.

  • Hands-on experience with FPGA design, development, and verification tools, including AMD/Xilinx Vivado, Altera/Intel Quartus, or similar programmable logic environments.

  • Experience across the full firmware development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and sustainment.

  • Strong background in schematic capture, programmable logic design, hardware integration, and troubleshooting complex digital systems.

  • Experience supporting firmware verification, validation, and system-level integration efforts in laboratory and production environments.

Benefits & conditions

$70/hr to $76/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment.
